Psychological support has an economic cost and an economic impact. The economic impact comes from returning people to participation in the civic and economic aspects of society. Medications can be quite expensive and are often deemed most effective when combined with self-help or psychotherapy. The SIS works by organizing and teaching the self-help groups.
